Seven bodies believed to be migrants found off Spanish coast

Spanish police announced that on Sunday and Monday they found seven bodies in the waters off the country’s southeastern Mediterranean coast, suggesting they were migrants trying to reach Europe.

“The Civil Guard found seven bodies off the coast of Alicante and Murcia after they floated on the surface of the water on the afternoon of Sunday, August 28, and on the morning of Monday, August 29,” the police said in a statement.

According to the statement, the bodies were taken to the Institute of Forensic Medicine for “an autopsy to determine the cause of death, sex, age and possibly nationality.” their country” and set sail in a dilapidated boat.

On Saturday, a man was rescued, who was sailing alone in a six-meter boat without a motor, a little north of this area towards Cabo de la Nao.

Police are investigating whether there is a link between this boat and seven bodies found on a migration route between Algeria and Europe.
