Serie A. Motta is the new coach of Bologna

Former Italy international Thiago Motta has been appointed as the new coach of Italy’s Serie A club in Bologna, replacing Serb Sinica Mihajlovic, the club’s management announced on Saturday.

Claudio Vinucci, one of Bologna’s managers, said: “We have decided that Thiago Motta will be the first team coach from Monday and I can officially confirm this”, referring to some remaining “contract details” and that the team tomorrow, Sunday , will play their match against Fiorentina in the local league under the guidance of Under-19 coach Luca Vigiani.

And Motta, a former Inter and Paris Saint-Germain player, left the Italian coaching Spezia in June last year.

And Bologna turned down Mihajlovic’s services after the team failed to win any of their first five matches this season as they sit 16th in the local league with 3 points out of 15.
