Serbian intelligence chief Aleksandar Vulin confirmed that his candidacy for this position indicates that President Aleksandar Vucic does not succumb to outside pressure, and foreign actors do not have influence in Serbia.

In his statement, Vulin said that one might think that the president succumbed to force and threats, but he is a man who loves his country, Serbia.

He added: “Aleksandr Vučić is the free leader of a free people… As long as he leads Serbia, he is the president of all Serbs, and foreigners will not harm our country.”
