Serbian Defense Ministry: Ukrainian plane that crashed in Greece was carrying weapons to Bangladesh

Serbian Defense Minister Nebojsa Stefanovic said that the Ukrainian An-12 aircraft that crashed in Greece on Sunday night was transporting 11.5 tons of “defense products” from Serbia to Bangladesh.

“The plane that crashed at night in Greece (An12) was carrying 11.5 tons of products of our defense complex to Bangladesh. Unfortunately, all eight crew members died,” the minister said at a press briefing.

In addition, the ERT TV channel reported that the Ukrainian Antonov cargo plane crashed on Saturday evening west of the city of Kavala in eastern Greece.

The aircraft was last seen on a radar screen 10 nautical miles west of Kavala, where the pilot requested an emergency landing.
