German Chancellor Olaf Scholz called for a speedy cessation of hostilities in Ukraine and promised to support the Kyiv authorities “for as long as they need”.
“We all want this war to end as quickly as possible. But what matters is how it ends,” the Chancellor said.
According to him, Russia should not achieve its goals, so the West supports Kyiv.
“Russia must not win, Ukraine must endure,” he said.
“We are helping with heavy weapons and ammunition and training Ukrainian soldiers because their fight is our fight,” he added.
