Schultz: Conflict in Ukraine will be a problem for Germany and France this winter

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said the conflict in Ukraine will be a “major problem” for Germany and France this winter.

Schultz said during a joint press conference with French Prime Minister Elisabeth Born in Berlin on Friday that the situation in Ukraine “will become a major problem for our two countries this winter due to high energy and food prices.”

He added that the goal of the authorities is to provide assistance to the most vulnerable groups of the population. “Germany and France are making a decisive contribution to preventing social division and strengthening our economic base,” he stressed.

He noted that Germany and France are strengthening cooperation in the field of energy, adding that they also discussed the climate policy of the European Union.
