Saudi newspaper: Al-Nasr club received Modric’s signature

Saudi newspaper Al-Youm made a big surprise in the transfer market, reporting that the Saudi victory had signed Real Croatia playmaker Luka Modric.

Al-Midan Al-Riyadh, the sports section of the Saudi newspaper Al-Youm, citing private sources, said Modric had already signed with Al-Nassr and that a deal would be announced very soon.

And Al-Maidan Al-Sport tweeted: “Special for Al-Maidan: Al-Nasr Club signs player Luka Modric after the club received approval from the player to represent the ranks club and is expected to announce a major deal soon.”

The source did not give a specific date when the 37-year-old Modric will join Al-Nasr, or whether the deal will be done during the current winter transfer market or after the end of the current season.

Several media reports have linked Modric and Spanish defender Sergio Ramos, the Paris Saint-Germain French player, with a move to Al Nasr from Saudi Arabia after the latter successfully signed Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo late last year.
