Saudi club tweet that he signed Ronaldo resonates widely

The club, a descending planet to Saudi Arabia’s second division, sparked widespread interaction among social media activists after a tweet denying the authenticity of news linking him to Portuguese Cristiano Ronaldo.

Al Kawkab Club tweeted through their official Twitter account saying “Statement … There is no truth in the press news that links the planet and the Portuguese player #Ronaldo Cristiano, the player is completely out of our accounts.”

The tweet received sarcastic comments and was shared among social media pioneers.

The huge “alleged” offer Ronaldo received from the Saudi club to leave Manchester United during this summer’s transfers has garnered media attention.

A press release published by CNN in its Portuguese version on Monday said the Saudi club had started talks to include Ronaldo without revealing the club’s name.

The network confirmed in its report that the Saudi team’s offer includes €30 million, a deal value for Manchester United and Ronaldo’s annual salary of €125 million a year, €250 million over two years which is the duration of the contract and €20 million as a commission to his agent (Portuguese Jorge Mendes).

The Al-Kawkab club moved to the second division after finishing in the penultimate 19th place with 27 points in the Yellow League standings.
