The Haas team also terminated a sponsorship contract with Russian fertilizer company Ural-Kale, 81.47% owned by Nikita’s father Dmitry Mazepin’s Ural-Chem since December 2020, with Mazepin replaced by Kevin Magnussen for the 2022 season. of the year.
Oral-Kale demanded to return sponsorship money to the team.
But representatives of the Haas team on April 14 said they did not intend to return Ural-Kaliy’s $ 13 million, which was paid before the start of the season for its work in the 2022 pre-season tests.
23-year-old Nikita Mazepin spent his only season in Formula 1 in 2021 with the Haas team, and his best result was 14th place.
