Russian Ambassador to Japan Mikhail Galusin attended a farewell ceremony for former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe on Monday, the embassy in Tokyo said in a statement.
Today, Monday, a farewell ceremony for the former prime minister in the presence of Abe’s relatives, friends and aides will be held at the Zojoji Buddhist temple in central Tokyo, followed by a funeral on Tuesday.
Shinzo Abe’s tenure during his premiership was the longest in Japanese history as he established good relations with the Russian President and they held 27 summits.
Russian media called Abe the “friendliest” prime minister in Japanese history.
