Russian official: One-sided OSCE interest in Ukraine is unacceptable

Permanent Representative of Russia to the OSCE Alexander Lukashevich said that the unilateral interest of the OSCE executive structures in the situation in Ukraine is unacceptable.

Alexander Lukashevich added: “We hope that the North Macedonian Chairmanship will create conditions for balanced actions and prevent the erosion of the authority of the OSCE executive structures and should not become a tool for settling political scores under the pretext of the situation in Ukraine. commitments within the OSCE, including in the field of human rights.

He noted that the OSCE missed the opportunity to play its role in promoting a political settlement of the Ukrainian conflict through the implementation of the Minsk agreements, and Russia was forced to intervene “to stop the bloodshed and destruction of the civilian population in the Donbass, and eliminate real threats to national security on its borders in full compliance with with the provisions of the UN Charter.

He concluded that “continuation of unlimited military support for Kyiv from the NATO and EU countries is an adventurous course that exacerbates the suffering of the civilian population of Ukraine and can lead to catastrophic consequences not only for this country, but also on a wider regional scale.”
