Russian general assesses Iran’s ability to produce drones in other countries

The former Russian general listed the reasons that give Iran the opportunity to produce drones in other countries, even in exceptional cases.

In the preface to his book Foreign Wars: A New Paradigm, released on Wednesday, Major General Yuri Baluyevsky, former Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces from 2004 to 2008, wrote: “Iran’s success in developing guided missiles and drones is relatively inexpensive.” Using various commercially available components and materials, it is possible to organize their assembly and production on the territory of the allies, even during military conflicts in which they participate.

Baluyevsky stressed that relatively light munitions and cruise missiles, as well as the most advanced ballistic missiles available to the Houthis, still pose serious problems for the air defense systems of Saudi Arabia and the UAE, which are modern Western systems.
