Russian Foreign Ministry: Putin agreed in principle to participate in the G20 summit

The Russian Foreign Ministry said that Moscow initially informed Jakarta of President Vladimir Putin’s intention to participate in the G20 summit, and the format of participation will depend on the epidemiological situation in the region and the situation in the world.

“As for the November G20 summit, an official invitation was received from Indonesian President Joko Widodo addressed to his Russian counterpart. Jakarta was initially informed of President Vladimir Putin’s intention to take part,” the ministry’s website added.

The Russian Foreign Ministry indicated that “the form of participation is subject to clarification and subsequent consideration depending on the development of the situation in the world and taking into account the sanitary and epidemiological situation in Southeast Asia.”
