Russian Foreign Ministry: Moscow is ready to provide necessary assistance to Afghanistan after the earthquake

The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, said that Moscow is ready to provide the necessary assistance to Afghanistan after the earthquake, if Kabul turns to Moscow with an appeal on this matter.

“If Kabul appeals, Moscow will be ready to provide the necessary assistance to the friendly Afghan people,” Zakharova said in a statement published on the official website of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

She also expressed the condolences of the Russian Foreign Ministry to the Afghan people, adding: “We express our sincere condolences to the Afghan people in connection with this natural disaster. We sympathize with the families and friends of the victims. We wish a speedy recovery to the injured. .”

The head of the department of culture and information in the Afghan province of Paktika, Amin Khudhaifa, said that the death toll from the strong earthquake that hit Afghanistan exceeded 1,000 dead and 1,500 injured.
