Russian Ambassador in Rome about the accident "Nord Stream": There are no idiots among us

Russian Ambassador to Rome Sergei Razov dismissed accusations that Russia could be behind the sabotage against Russia’s Nord Stream gas pipeline in the Baltic Sea.

The ambassador said in an interview with the Italian channel Rai 1 on Thursday: “Now there are these speculations that the Russians have blown up their own gas pipeline.”

“I understand that under the influence of anti-Russian propaganda, people may have different opinions about the Russians and the leaders of Russia, but I assure them that there are no idiots among us,” he added.

Commenting on the EU’s plans to refuse Russian gas supplies, Razov said that he “does not understand what the problem is with Russian gas.”

He explained: “For 50 years we have been supplying gas to Europe and Italy stably and without problems. We were ready to continue deliveries. But later, Italy and its allies decided to abandon their dependence on Russian gas. your choice”.

It is noteworthy that the Russian gas pipelines Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2 were subjected to a sabotage operation on September 26, as a result of which a gas leak occurred from them.
