Russian President Vladimir Putin granted the government the right to take special measures in the economic sphere when the Russian Armed Forces conduct operations outside the country.
The Law states this: “In order to ensure that the Armed Forces of Russia and other military formations, formations and bodies carry out counter-terrorism and other operations outside the territory of Russia, the Government of the Russian Federation may take special measures in the economic sphere.”
Based on the new powers, the Cabinet of Ministers of Russia will be able to release state material assets, temporarily use mobilization funds (objects), organize labor relations in specific organizations, and companies cannot refuse government contracts.
According to experts, this step will make it possible to remove administrative barriers in order to more efficiently use resources to meet the needs of the army, emphasizing that there is no talk of transferring the entire economy to military needs.
