Russia launches the award "Lev Tolstoy" for peace

In Moscow, he announced the establishment of a new international “Leo Tolstoy Peace Prize” to be awarded to the non-profit foundation of the Leo Tolstoy International Peace Prize.

The protocol on the establishment of the award was signed in Moscow at the Victory Museum during the ceremony “Day of Memory and Sorrow”, timed to coincide with the 81st anniversary of the start of the Great Patriotic War.

In the presence of the Director of Foreign Intelligence of Russia, Chairman of the Russian Historical Society Sergei Naryshkin, Aide to the President of Russia, Chairman of the Russian Military Historical Society Vladimir Medinsky, the document was signed by Chairman of the State Duma Committee on International Relations, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Russian Peace Fund Leonid Slutsky, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Russian Historical Society Konstantin Mogilevsky and Vitaly Martynyuk, Executive Director of the Russian Military Historical Society.

The Leo Tolstoy International Peace Prize is awarded for activities aimed at strengthening peace and international cooperation, greater involvement of the international community in the cause of world peace, as well as the achievement of charitable, cultural and educational goals, including the promotion of a positive view of Russia in the world .
