Russia is negotiating with African countries on the exchange of national currencies

Special Ambassador of the Russian Foreign Ministry, head of the secretariat of the Russian-African Partnership Forum Oleg Azorov said that Russia is negotiating with many African countries on trade in national currencies.

Answering a question about the possibility of switching to trade in national currencies with Africa, Azorov said in an interview with Sputnik: “We are negotiating with many countries.”

“Naturally, this is a complex process that requires decision-making by both Russian and African regulators,” he added.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said the United States and Europe are calling on African countries not to cooperate with Russia and to strive to restore African colonialism.

The second Russian-African summit is planned to be held in St. Petersburg next July. As for the first summit, it took place in 2019 in Sochi with the participation of the heads of most African countries.
