Russia imposes sanctions on 384 Japanese parliamentarians

The Russian Foreign Ministry said that Moscow imposed sanctions on 384 deputies of the House of Representatives of the Japanese Parliament, including them in the list of persons who are prohibited from entering Russia.

“A decision was made to ban entry to Russia as of July 14 for 384 deputies of the lower house of the Japanese parliament, who took an unfriendly and anti-Russian position and made unfounded accusations against our country in the context of a special military operation in Ukraine,” the ministry said in a statement.

The statement also notes that this decision is connected with the introduction by the Japanese government in April last year of personal sanctions against a large group of deputies of the State Duma of the Russian Federation.
