Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that Russia had donated test kits to the Congo to diagnose monkeypox.
“In connection with the spread of various epidemics on our planet, we have indicated an interest in developing a new form of cooperation, in creating a joint laboratory for the study and prevention of dangerous infectious diseases,” Lavrov added during his visit to the Congo.
“In this regard, we gave our friends a humanitarian batch in the form of test kits for the diagnosis of monkeypox,” the Russian minister added.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov is on an African tour that will see him visit Egypt, Congo, Uganda and Ethiopia, where he previously stated in an exclusive interview with RT that Russia has a long and good relationship with Africa, starting with the Soviet Union, adding that Moscow has been active in recent years, regaining its position on the brown continent, which indicates that this approach is shared by African countries.
