Russia cuts off gas supplies to Europe through "Nord Stream 1" for supporting

The Russian Gazprom announced the cessation of gas transportation from Russia to Europe through the Nord Stream 1 gas pipeline for three days due to the need to maintain a large pumping station on the pipeline.

According to Gazprom’s notice, gas pumping will stop from 04:00 Moscow time on August 31, 2022 until the same hour on September 3, 2022.

In turn, the line operator indicated that gas pumping will decrease and stop from 03:00 Moscow time, starting from tomorrow Wednesday.

On August 31, the only operating gas compressor unit (turbine) Trent 60 at the Portofia plant in Nord Stream 1 will stop working for three days for repairs.

After the repair work is completed, gas pumping will resume in the amount of 33 million cubic meters per day.

Earlier, Moscow confirmed that technical obstacles due to Western sanctions prevent the operation of Nord Stream 1 at full capacity, and stressed that these measures are irrational and interfere with work.
