Russia and Saudi Arabia expand military-technical cooperation

Russian Ambassador to Riyadh Sergei Kozlov said that Russia and Saudi Arabia have stepped up work to expand military-technical cooperation between the two countries.

The ambassador added: “The Kingdom has intensified its desire to diversify the country’s defense capabilities, including by expanding the geography of military-technical cooperation with other countries of the world. Russia is one of them.”

“Recently, work in this area has significantly intensified. This is evidenced, in particular, by regular bilateral contacts, including the work of the joint Russian-Saudi government commission on military-technical cooperation,” the ambassador continued.

The ambassador linked the search for new partners by the Saudis with American threats to revise the parameters of relations with Saudi Arabia, including in the military aspect.

He indicated that Washington is not satisfied with the OPEC + decision to cut oil production.
