Romano: Ronaldo still wants to leave Manchester United

Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, an expert on the transfer market in Europe, has said Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo still wants to leave Manchester United during this summer’s Mercato.

Previously, Ronaldo submitted a request to his club’s management to allow him to leave this summer because of his desire to play with a team that participates in the European Champions League.

However, Manchester United manager Eric Ten Hag denied that Ronaldo had told him about it and has repeatedly confirmed that the Portuguese star is not for sale.

Fabrizio Romano, one of the most trusted transfer specialists in the world of football, has confirmed that Ronaldo’s position has not changed and he still wants to leave Manchester United this summer.

Romano indicated that Portuguese Jorge Mendes, Ronaldo’s agent, is currently working to find the player’s release from Old Trafford.

The Italian journalist added: “There is still a possibility that Ronaldo will leave in the last hours of Mercato, as happened last summer.”

Romano concluded: Manchester United insist that Ronaldo is not for sale, but Jorge Mendes continues to explore options.
