Resumption of the transfer of Russian oil to the Czech Republic through the pipeline "Drogba"

Deliveries of Russian oil to the Czech Republic resumed via the southern branch of the Druzhba oil pipeline after a halt since August 4, Czech television reported.

Earlier, the Russian company Transneft stated that on August 4, Ukrtransneft stopped pumping oil from Russia to Hungary, the Czech Republic and Slovakia via the Druzhba oil pipeline in its section transiting through eastern Ukraine, under the pretext that the Russian side did not pay transit fees due to European sanctions.

Transneft confirmed that it had informed all parties of the current situation and was working on alternative payment options.

Later, the Hungarian company “Moll” and the Slovak “Slovenaft” agreed with the Ukrainian side on the resumption of pumping after payment of transit fees.

For his part, the Minister of Economy of Slovakia, Richard Solek, indicated that neither the Russian nor the Ukrainian side was responsible for the suspension of supplies, and that what happened was a technical error in a bank in Western Europe due to sanctions.
