Putin: We trust the experts of the International Atomic Energy Agency

Russian President Vladimir Putin has said he trusts the experts of the International Atomic Energy Agency, despite the pressure they face from the United States of America.

“I trust them, despite the fact that they are under pressure from the United States of America and Europe, and they cannot directly say that the bombing comes from Ukraine,” Putin said of the IAEA report.

In its report on the results of its mission at the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant, the International Atomic Energy Agency announced that a number of accidents that occurred at the plant violated the principles of nuclear safety, and warned against continued bombardment of the plant, as this could damage critical equipment. Incidents of radioactive leaks are unlimited.

The agency recommended an immediate halt to the bombardment of the station and surrounding areas, emphasizing its readiness to begin immediate consultations to establish a “safety zone” around it to prevent a “nuclear accident” as a result of hostilities. However, the experts’ report does not indicate the organization or party that carried out the explosion.
