Putin praised the development of relations with Iran during his main meeting

Russian President Vladimir Putin, during a meeting on Thursday with his Iranian counterpart Ebrahim Raisi, praised bilateral relations, emphasizing their development in all areas.

The Russian President said that Moscow was working on Iran’s entry into the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, noting that Russia’s partners supported this initiative, and that only routine procedures remained to obtain full membership.

During the main meeting, Putin added that a Russian delegation, which will include representatives of 80 large Russian companies, will visit Iran next week.

The Russian president also touched upon the growth of trade between Russia and Iran, noting that last year it increased by 81%, and in the first five months of this year it increased by another 30%.
