Putin: Irresponsibility of the G7 countries is behind the growth of inflation in the world

Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the sharp increase in inflation is the result of several years of irresponsible actions of the G7 countries, and the Russian special operation in Ukraine has nothing to do with it.

This is stated in the speech of the President of Russia via video link at the BRICS+ meeting, the topic of the meeting is “Strengthening partnership for global development in a new era.”

“The sharp rise in inflation did not happen yesterday, it is the result of the irresponsible macroeconomic policies of the G7 countries over the course of several years,” Putin said.

He added: “Russia is an important and responsible participant in the global food market, and we are certainly ready to continue to fulfill in good faith all our contractual obligations for the supply of agricultural products, fertilizers, energy resources and other vital goods. “

He pointed out that Russia continues to provide humanitarian assistance to many countries in need, especially Lebanon, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Cuba, Sudan and others.
