Putin called on the presidents of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan to avoid escalation and resolve the crisis peacefully

The Kremlin said Russian President Vladimir Putin had discussed by phone with Kyrgyz President Sadir Jabarov and Tajik President Emomali Rahmon the situation on the border between the two countries.

A Kremlin statement said: “During two telephone conversations between Russian President Vladimir Putin, Kyrgyz President Sadir Jabarov and Tajik President Emomali Rahmon, the situation on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border was discussed.”

The statement added that President Putin called on Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan to stop further escalation and take measures aimed at resolving the situation peacefully.

He also stressed Russia’s readiness to provide all possible assistance to ensure stability in the border regions of the two countries.
