Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke about IT specialists who left the country, noting that the reasons for their departure were different, but many of them have already returned, because “the situation is better at home.”
The Russian President’s statement came during his Thursday meeting with the winners of the Leaders of Russia competition, which identifies promising managerial people with cutting-edge talents.
Putin said: “The fact that people leave is not uncommon here, someone is afraid, someone doubts that they will be able to work here effectively, but the success of work consists of many components: state support and living conditions. We did not prevent anyone from leaving, and many returned, because it is one thing to live in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Saratov (and other Russian cities), another with our neighbors, the homeland is better.
Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Chernyshenko said that the majority of IT specialists who left after the start of the special operation in Ukraine returned to Russia and that reports of a “mass exodus” are unfounded.
