Pushilin: Ukrainian forces have only one way to leave Artemivsk

Acting President of the Donetsk People’s Republic Denis Pushilin said that Ukrainian forces could not leave Artemivsk except along one road that was within range of fire from Russian troops.

“In the area of Artemovsk, the enemy is at a disadvantage, since the Ukrainian units have only one way to leave the city, which is already under our fire,” Pushilin said.

According to him, “Russian units are now advancing northwest of Artemovsk… We expect positive news in this direction in the near future.”

Pushilin added: “In a number of areas, the fighting has moved into the stage of mopping up. The enemy continues to attempt to control the front north of the Chasov Yar-Artemovsk highway.

Artemivsk is located 55 km northeast of Donetsk and remains an important transport hub for supplying the Ukrainian group of troops in the Donbass.

Russian troops liberated part of the areas on the outskirts of Artemovsk, including Klychevka, Podgorodnoye, Paraskovka, Berkovka and Yagodno.
