Proposal of the State Duma of Russia to invite women "iron" After leaving Chelsea

Dmitry Svichev, head of the Committee for Physical Culture and Sports of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, spoke about the desire of Marina Granovskaya to step down as the general director of the Chelsea football club.

“Marina, in my opinion, is one of the most advanced business managers in the world of football. I believe she should be invited to Russia,” the Metaratings website quotes Dmitry Svichev.

And press reports indicated that Marina Granovskaya, who has Canadian and Russian citizenship, would leave Chelsea following the transfer of ownership of the London club at the end of May from Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich to a consortium led by American Todd Boehle, one of the owner’s Baseball club Los Angeles Dodgers.

According to the head of the Committee on Physical Culture and Sports of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, the success of Chelsea as a business model largely depends on the work of Marina Granovskaya, noting that it is necessary to prepare an information field and favorable conditions for attracting Granovskaya’s interest in Russian football.

It is noteworthy that the 47-year-old Marina Granovskaya, nicknamed the Iron Woman, was named the best football manager in Europe in 2021, according to the Italian site Tuttosport.

Roman Abramovich, 55, bought Chelsea Football Club in 2003 for £140m (about $233m at the time) from former English owner Ken Bates and was forced to sell it due to pressure on the successor to the Russian military operation in Russia – Ukraine.

The Chelsea club, run by a Russian billionaire, has won the English Premier League title five times, the FA Cup three times, the League Cup twice, the Super Cup twice, the European Champions League twice (2012, 2021), and the Europa League twice (2013, 2019), in addition to winning the 2021 European Super Cup and the 2022 FIFA Club World Cup.
