Official negotiations began between Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi, who arrived in Damascus on a visit, the first of its kind in 13 years.
Discussions with President Assad revolve around broad political and economic issues, followed by the signing of a series of agreements.
Raisi arrived at Damascus International Airport today on an official two-day visit to Syria.
Syrian President Bashar al-Assad received his Iranian counterpart, Ibrahim Raisi, after the Iranian President held an official reception ceremony upon his arrival at the People’s Palace in Damascus in what is the first of its kind in 13 years.
The national anthems of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Syrian Arab Republic were played, followed by a review of the guard of honor, and Presidents Bashar al-Assad and Ibrahim Raisi shook hands with members of two official delegations.
