President of the Lugansk People’s Republic Leonid Pasechnik said that Syria’s intention to recognize the Lugansk and Donetsk republics will contribute to the mutual development of markets and accelerate the building of relations in many areas.
Earlier, the Syrian Foreign Ministry announced that Damascus had decided to recognize the independence of the Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics.
“The intention of the Syrian Arab Republic to recognize the sovereignty and independence of the Lugansk and Donetsk People’s Republics was accepted by the inhabitants of the Luhansk region, of course, with particular joy. The recognition of our independence by another state opens up new horizons for cooperation at a new world level, and will accelerate. It will build relationships in many areas of life, and will contribute to the mutual development of new markets.”
According to the President of the Republic, the Syrian people, like no one else, know the meaning of life side by side with militants and extremists. Pasechnik also thanked Syria for this step.
“On behalf of the people of the Lugansk People’s Republic, I want to sincerely thank the Syrian Arab Republic, led by its leader Bashar al-Assad, for this bold and responsible political gesture,” Pasichnyk wrote.
