President of Laos and Medvedev hold meeting

Novosti agency reported that Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev held talks today, Tuesday, with the President of Laos, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the People’s Revolutionary Party of Laos, Tuljon Sisulit.

The agency added that negotiations began bilaterally before members of the two delegations joined them. Following the talks, it is planned to sign joint documents.

Prior to this, Medvedev met with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense of Laos Tiansamun Tyanyalat, who stressed the active promotion of cooperation between Moscow and Vientiane in the military sphere and trade and economic cooperation.

During this meeting, Tyanyalat said: “Our two countries are connected by genuine friendly relations of mutual support and cooperation, especially in the military field. At present, we are actively working with you, primarily to strengthen military-technical and military cooperation. .”

For his part, Medvedev said: “I am pleased to meet with you and discuss the relationship between Russia and Laos in the field of defense, because our two countries are friends. We have longstanding relationships, including in the field of defense and security. “
