Preparing for Strategic Nuclear Experiments in the US

The US Strategic Command, STRATCOM, has announced that US forces will conduct Global Thunder 23 maneuvers to test the readiness of nuclear forces.

“On April 11, 2023, US Strategic Command will begin the annual Global Thunder nuclear command and control exercise,” the command said in a statement.

She pointed out that such exercises are held annually and are not a response to the actions of any country. The main goal of the exercises is to assess the readiness of nuclear forces and the capabilities of strategic deterrence.

Key U.S. allies, including the United Kingdom, were confirmed to be participating in the exercise.
