Preparations for Embassy Opening: Iranian Delegation Arrives in Riyadh

Today, Wednesday, the Iranian Foreign Ministry announced the arrival of an Iranian delegation to Riyadh in preparation for the opening of an embassy in the capital Riyadh and a consulate in Jeddah.

Nasser Kanaani, a spokesman for the Iranian Foreign Ministry, said that the delegation consists of two groups, one of which is sent to Riyadh to inspect the Iranian embassy, ​​and the other to Jeddah to take the necessary measures to open an Iranian consulate and Iran’s representative to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.

Kanaani stressed that his country is looking to reopen its offices ahead of the Hajj season.

It is worth noting that the Saudi delegation, which has been in Iran since Saturday, will leave for Mashhad tomorrow.

On March 10, Riyadh and Tehran announced an agreement to resume diplomatic relations and open embassies and diplomatic missions within two months.
