Power outage on the Danish island of Bornholm

Today, on Monday, Danish Radio reported that the Danish island of Bornholm was completely left without electricity due to a break in the cable through which the country receives electricity from Sweden.

Bornholms Energi og Forsyning has announced that it intends to restore power to the island using an existing power plant in the port town of Rhine on the island.

For its part, the company “Trefor Elnet St”, which is the owner of the electrical networks, confirmed the reality of the interruption in the supply of electricity to the entire island, without naming the cause of the accident, urging them to wait for the results of the investigation.

Trefor Elnet st spokeswoman Anja Palme said: “It is clear to us that there has been some activity around Bornholm in recent weeks, so it is important to say that we do not yet know what has happened. Most likely, this is a small glitch. .. for electric current”. It is also unknown if the cable broke on land or at sea.

Bornholm Island, located in the Baltic Sea, became known after the September 26 explosions on the Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2 gas pipelines.
