The Egyptian Football Association held a press conference at a Cairo hotel to introduce Roy Vitoria as the new coach of the Egyptian national team, replacing Ehab Galal, who was sacked from his position last month.

Roy Vitoria at the beginning spoke of his happiness to take over the training of the Egyptian national team in the coming period, urging the Egyptian fans to support and support him, especially since they breathe football.

The Portuguese coach said: “I used to work with many clubs and most of the teams I worked for were 4 years old.”

He added: “I’m happy to lead a team that has a project, that’s why I agreed to coach the Egyptian national team because they have a project that 100 million people support.”

On the other hand, Roy Vitoria spoke about his contact with Mohamed Salah, the English star of Liverpool, after he became the manager of the Egyptian national team.

Roy Vitoria confirmed that he had already contacted Mohamed Salah after training with the Egyptian national team, but refused to reveal what happened between them during the conversation.

Hazem Emam, a member of the board of directors of the Egyptian Football Association, previously confirmed that it was Salah who requested Roy Vitoria’s phone number to speak with him after taking charge of the Egyptian national team.

At the same time, the Portuguese coach abandoned the idea of relying on a specific player, emphasizing that he would work on creating a new Mohamed Salah, because no player can cope with all the tasks alone.

Roy Vitoria said during a press conference: “I would like to send a message to all Egyptian players that he will watch all the matches to find out the best of them and a new era is dawning for the pharaohs and everyone will get a chance.”

Vitoria explained, “I don’t like talking about a specific player. I love teamwork. Salah is a great international player, but our goal is to create more than one copy of Salah and we will take care of all the players.”

He continued: “I have a lot of ideas and I love working with the youth on the national teams. I have studied the Egyptian player well, and he has great ambitions, and gradually we will be able to develop the skills of the Egyptian player.”

Vitoria won the Portuguese Championship with Benfica twice in a row, as well as the Portuguese Cup from 2015 to 2019, after which they moved to Al Nasr, Saudi Arabia.

The Portuguese coach led Al Nasr to victory in the Saudi Pro League in the 2018-2019 season as well as the Saudi Super Cup.

Roy Vitoria’s last match was short last year, against the Russian club Spartak Moscow.

Roy Vitoria’s contract with the Egyptian Football Association is for 4 years, ending in 2026, and includes Vitoria’s right to hire 4 foreign assistants.

According to local media, Vitoria will receive two million 400 thousand dollars annually, or 200 thousand dollars a month, which is equivalent to 3 million 600 thousand Egyptian pounds, and there is a penalty clause in the contract in the amount of 3 months’ salary for any party wishing to terminate contract before its expiration.
