Polling Stations Close and Vote Counting Begins in Turkey’s Presidential Elections

Polling stations and ballot boxes for the second round of presidential elections across Turkey closed at 5 pm on Sunday amid very high turnout.

On Sunday, Turkish voters voted again in the second round of the presidential election between President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his opposition rival Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu.

Ahmed Yanar, head of the Turkish High Electoral Commission, said that the announcement of the election results would not be long in coming, as happened in the first round.

The head of the High Electoral Commission added in a press statement that voter turnout in the second round of the presidential elections in Turkey is very high.
