The United States stipulated that Ukrainian forces would complete training in Patriot air defense systems in order to be deployed to Ukraine.
A Pentagon spokesman said the system, which includes several support vehicles, control stations, radars and generators, would likely not appear on the battlefield for several more months.
According to Politico: “The Army will not supply systems to Ukraine until Ukrainians are fully trained in their use.”
Sources indicate that the training of the Ukrainian military will take several months, and 90 specially trained military personnel are needed to ensure the operation of the system.
Earlier, US President Joe Biden said that Washington would provide Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems to Kyiv, in addition, the US leader promised to train Ukrainian forces in the proper use of air defense systems.
