The Polish authorities announced the nationalization of Gazprom’s stake in EuroPol GAZ, which manages the Polish section of the Yamal-Europe gas pipeline.

According to the statement of the Ministry of Development and Technology of Poland: “According to the decision of the Minister of Development and Technology, Waldemar Bode, a temporary mandatory administration was created in EuRoPol, covering all Gazprom shares included in the sanctions list. GAS”.

She added: “The establishment of a mandatory governance is necessary for the proper operation of EuRoPol GAZ, including to prevent the suspension of the solution in this company and to ensure the security of critical gas transmission infrastructure. This decision aims to improve energy security and economic security in Poland. .”

In the same context, the German government has decided to nationalize Securing Energy for Europe, a former subsidiary of Gazprom that owns the largest Rieden underground gas storage facility in Western Europe.

The German Ministry of Economics justified the move with the imminent bankruptcy of Safe Energy for Europe, which would jeopardize the security of supplies to Germany along the line, and added: “In order to prevent this risk and preserve the company’s operations, ownership of the company is currently being transferred.” .
