Poland Donates Leopard 2 Tanks to Ukraine

Polish Defense Minister Mariusz Blaszczak said that his country had delivered 10 Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine out of 14 previously promised vehicles of this type.

The minister added: “We have delivered 10 more Leopard 2A4 tanks to Ukraine. The process of training the Ukrainian military in the use of these tanks has also been completed.”

The minister noted that Poland had completed the process of creating a whole Ukrainian division of Leopard 2A4 tanks. According to him, the battalion includes “eight tanks from Canada, eight from Norway, six from Spain. Perhaps this battalion will include four more tanks from Spain. We surrendered the entire Polish part, and soon the Allies will do the same. “

On January 25, the German government confirmed that it would send 14 Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine and issue permission to other countries to re-export these armored vehicles.

Great Britain, Norway, Slovakia, the USA, France and other countries also announced their intention to provide Kyiv with Western-made tanks.

Poland announced its intention to allocate 14 tanks. The first four were delivered to Ukraine on 24 February.
