Poland and Ukraine Unveil Joint Plan to Supply MiG-29 Fighters

The official representative of the Polish government, Piotr Muller, announced the intention of several countries to supply MiG-29 fighter jets to Ukraine.

Mueller’s statement came in response to a journalist’s question about the delivery of MiG-29 fighter jets to Ukraine, which was announced on Tuesday by Defense Minister Mariusz Blaszczak.

Mueller added that details would be announced in due course, noting that Poland has a list of countries that will supply Ukraine with MiG-29 fighter jets, but does not name them.

He said: “Although we have a list of countries that will supply Ukraine with MiG-29 fighters, I do not have the right to announce this on their behalf, and each country will announce the supply of fighters to Ukraine at its discretion. procedures and protocols.

Muller indicated that Poland is ready to make a decision on the supply of fighter jets to Ukraine if it is part of a group of countries, and not separately.

Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said on Tuesday that Poland would supply its MiG-29 fighter jets to Ukraine over the next four to six years, but did not specify the number of aircraft that would be sent to Ukraine.

On February 17, Morawiecki announced that Warsaw was ready to supply MiG-29 fighter jets to Ukraine, but only in alliance with other NATO countries.

For its part, Polish President Andrzej Duda said earlier that Warsaw was ready to provide Ukraine with MiG-29 fighter jets in service.
