Pentagon: We have not yet provided Kyiv with NASAMS air defense systems

Pentagon spokesman Patrick Ryder said that the NASAMS air defense system intended for Ukraine has not yet been produced.

Earlier, the Pentagon announced that Ukraine will receive the NASAMS system in the coming months.

The US Department of Defense announced a contract with Raytheon for the production of NASAMS systems worth $182 million for Ukraine, and that the production of the system will be completed no later than August 23, 2024.

Notably, the US announced a new military assistance package to Ukraine worth about $3 billion, which will be provided in stages, including HIMARS and NASAMS missiles, artillery munitions, Javelin anti-tank missiles and other ammunition and equipment, as well as 6 NASAMS. air defense systems.
