Pentagon Inks $1 Billion Contract for Air-to-Air Missile Manufacturing

The Pentagon has announced it has signed a $1 billion contract with Raytheon to manufacture AMRAAM air-to-air missiles to countries including Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Ukraine.

And a Pentagon statement on Tuesday said the contract was worth more than $1.151 billion.

The same source stated that the contract includes non-confidential deliveries to a number of countries, including Bahrain, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Finland, Hungary, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, Norway, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Switzerland, Ukraine and UK.

It is reported that AMRAAM missiles are installed on aircraft, and can also be used in NASAMS air defense systems belonging to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
