Paris Saint-Germain make decision on Messi’s future

Spanish newspaper Marca revealed the desire of the French club Paris Saint-Germain to extend the contract of Argentine star Lionel Messi.

The newspaper reported that the management of the French club informed the Argentine star of their idea to extend his contract, which expires in the summer of 2023, by one more season until 2024.

There has not yet been an official offer to extend Messi’s contract, but the Parisian club has shown a willingness to do so.

Saint-Germain is also aware of the financial benefits of keeping Messi, with sponsorship deals raining down after he joined the club last season and revenues up 13%.

Messi believes that it is too early to answer this question, especially in light of the fact that he has not yet received an official proposal.

Messi believes he needs to wait until the end of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar at the end of the year to check on his mental and physical condition and then make an appropriate decision about his future.

Messi suffered during his first year at Paris Saint-Germain, mainly due to the adaptation process and several injuries, including the Corona virus and its subsequent effects.

Messi joined Princes Park last summer after his contract with Barcelona expired.
