The racing driver's father, writer and political scientist Rami Al-Shaer said: "The most important thing is that she qualified for and competed in the World Championships, and this is really a historic sporting event, which is the first time that a Palestinian Arab jockey has competed in the World Championships in this sport, which is distinguished by sophistication."
Notably, the result achieved by Palestinian jockey Diana Al-Shaer at the Dressage World Equestrian Championships, which ended on August 10, makes her eligible to compete in two international competitions over the next two years to qualify for the Olympic Games hosted by Paris two years later.
