The Pakistani army claimed the killing of two of its soldiers, as well as the killing of six militants during the standoffs between the two sides.
The Pakistani army said in a statement that the deaths occurred during clashes in the border province of Waziristan with Afghanistan.
A soldier and a militant were killed last week in clashes between security forces and militants in the North Waziristan region of northwestern Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, according to a statement from the army.
“A terrorist was killed during an intense firefight,” the Pakistani army’s public relations department said in a statement, adding that the soldier who died was a 32-year-old resident of Charsadda district.
