President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi led an inspection tour of the Sharkia sugar mill after witnessing Labor Day celebrations on Monday.

For the first time in the history of Egypt, the President of Egypt issued a number of important decisions regarding the Egyptian workers, which were as follows:

• Establishment of an emergency subsidy fund for irregular employment and the transfer of contributions from social and health accounts to it, which allows them to be invested and spent in emergencies and crises on casual employment in a sustainable manner, and to maximize social assistance and development. return from it.

• Starting to revitalize the fund immediately after the completion of legal procedures through the payment of an urgent grant of “1000” pounds for illegal workers who do not benefit from social protection programs.

Issuance of a new document from the Aman certificate, which was previously issued in 2017 to cover life insurance and industrial injuries for illegal workers.

• Emphasis on ensuring that all private sector, public sector and public business enterprises comply with the statutory rate of 5%, employ persons with disabilities and continue to work on developing their skills and integrating them into the labor market.

• The Higher Council for Social Dialogue at Work examines the draft labor law submitted to the House of Representatives in the presence of workers’ and employers’ representatives and agrees on its final form in such a way as to guarantee the preservation of workers’ rights and guarantee an investment-friendly working environment.

• Strengthening compliance with international labor standards and ensuring that labor legislation and its implementation are in line with international labor conventions ratified by Egypt.

• Prompt completion of the launch of the National Labor Market Information Platform by the Ministry of Labor.

• Ministries and interested bodies, in agreement with the private sector, promptly complete procedures aimed at achieving gender equality in the labor sphere, ensuring safe working conditions, increasing the level of employment of women, their integration into the labor market, and developing their skills. , protecting working women and ensuring work-family reconciliation as part of the revitalization of the national plan for gender equality in the world of work, which was launched in 2022.

• Launching a national campaign to improve society’s perception of the value of work and its importance to the individual and society, and encouraging young people to integrate into self-employment and entrepreneurship, as well as to create their own small, medium and micro enterprises.

• Ministries and stakeholders are preparing for the future jobs, identifying the occupations and skills needed in the labor market of the future, and working to develop human resource skills to fit future jobs and needs. labor market.
