Oil, gold and other commodities rose by close

Benchmark U.S. crude for October delivery rose 99 cents to $87.78 a barrel at Monday’s close, while Brent crude for November delivery stood at $94 a barrel. which is $1.16 higher.

Wholesale gasoline for October delivery rose 1 cent to $2.44 a gallon.

Heating oil rose 2 cents to $3.60 a gallon in October.

And natural gas rose 25 cents in October to $8.25 per thousand cubic feet.

As for gold, it rose $12 to $1,740.60 an ounce for December delivery.

For its part, silver for December delivery rose $1.09 to $19.86 an ounce, while copper rose 4 cents to $3.61 a pound in December.
